GST calculator
Add GST to a price, or take it out of an amount that already includes GST. See the CGST + SGST split for sales inside your state, or IGST for sales to another state.
How GST is calculated
Adding GST to a price
GST = price × rate ÷ 100, and the total is the price plus GST. At 18%, a ₹1,000 item has ₹180 GST and costs ₹1,180.
Taking GST out of an amount that includes it
Taxable value = amount ÷ (1 + rate ÷ 100), and GST is the rest. At 18%, ₹1,180 is ₹1,000 plus ₹180 GST.
CGST + SGST or IGST?
When you sell to a customer in your own state (an intra-state supply), the GST is split in two halves: CGST for the centre and SGST (UTGST in a union territory) for the state. At 18%, that is 9% + 9%. When the place of supply is another state (an inter-state supply), the whole GST is IGST.
GST rates change, and the rate depends on the item's HSN or SAC code. Check the current rate for your goods or services on the CBIC rate list or the HSN / SAC search on the GST portal.

SahiBill picks CGST + SGST or IGST from the customer's state and prints it on every bill.
